Buffet Breakfast Daily, Lunch & Dinners as specified
Morning transfer from Jerusalem to the Allenby-King Hussein Bridge; enter the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Meet your driver and continue to Mt. Nebo, where Moses viewed the Promised Land; enjoy the breathtaking view of the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Continue to Madaba to see the Church of St. George and its oldest surviving 6th-Century Byzantine map. After lunch, drive via Wadi Mujib to Kerak Castle, with its maze of stone-vaulted halls and endless passageways, from the time of the Crusaders. Arrive in Petra, built by the Nabateans over 2,000 years ago. Arrive at the hotel in Petra for dinner and overnight; or substitute tonight’s dinner at the “Petra Kitchen” including Jordanian cooking lessons ($15 per person supplement; must be pre-booked). (L.D)
Today, discover a most unforgettable day in the “hidden” city of Petra. Your local guide will take you on a private tour into the “rose red” city. Travel on horseback or on foot begins at the awesome “Siq”, a winding canyon road. Marvel at one of Petra’s most impressive monument, The Treasury, carved out of solid rock from the side of the mountain. Beyond the Treasury, you’ll discover soaring temples, elaborate royal tombs, a theatre, burial chambers and water channels. After lunch, transfer to the Arava Crossing for re-entry to Israel. You will be met and transferred to hotel in Eilat or the Eilat Airport. (Optional transfer to Allenby-King Hussein Bridge available, please inquire.) (B.L)
Note: Flights departing Eilat on Tour D should be after 7:30pm.
