Day 1:  Amman / Jerash / Amman

Welcome to Jordan! Arrive at Amman Airport or Allenby/King Hussein Bridge from Israel; you will be met by your guide and driver to begin your private tour of Jordan. Drive through the dramatic desert scenery to Jerash, known as the “Pompeii of the East,” one of the world’s best-preserved Greco-Roman cities. Tour the Temples of Artemis and Zeus, the Roman Forum, Hadrian’s Arch, the massive Theatre and the mile-long Street of Columns. After lunch, drive to Amman, the capital of Jordan. Tour the old city of Amman exploring Amphitheatre, Museum, Souk and main streets of this vibrant city.  Check-in at your hotel in Amman for overnight. Evening: Enjoy dinner at a Middle Eastern restaurant. Day 2: Amman / Madaba / Mt. Nebo / Kerak / Petra

Depart Amman to Madaba, home to some of the finest Byzantine mosaics in the world. View the 6th century mosaic map of the Holyland. Continue to Mount Nebo, highest point of the Moabite Mountain range, offering a remarkable view of the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Tradition holds that Moses viewed “the Promised Land” from this peak. After lunch in a local restaurant, on to the desert oasis of Ain Mousa where Moses quenched his thirst en route to Kerak, the ancient walled city steeped in history, known by many names during its long and eminent past. Visit the magnificent castle before continuing on to Petra, built by the Nabateans over 2000 years ago. Tonight, experience the Petra Kitchen” including Jordanian cooking lessons, take home recipes, and enjoy the food prepared. Overnight in Petra. (B.L.D)

Day 3: Petra / Wadi Rum

Today, discover a most unforgettable day in the “hidden” city of Petra. Travel on horseback or on foot to the awesome “Siq”, a winding canyon road. Continue by foot to visit one of Petra’s most impressive monuments, the Treasury, made famous in the movie “Indiana Jones”, carved out of solid rock from the side of the mountain.  Beyond the Treasury, you’ll discover soaring temples, elaborate royal tombs, a theatre, burial chambers and water channels. After lunch, drive southward to Wadi Rum. This evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at the campsite. Overnight in Wadi Rum. (B.L.D)

Optional: Stargazing – Wadi Rums known for its clear night sky, is ideal for stargazing. This guided group activity allows you to learn about the universe we live in. Witness the magnificence of the skies and heavens, with powerful telescopes, bringing you closer to the hidden wonders of the stars and planets ($40 per person, must be pre-booked).

Day 4:  Wadi Rum / Amman

Wadi Rum, a place of breathtaking scenery,  inspired the film “Lawrence of Arabia”. This morning, enjoy a truly “out of this world” jeep experience to a surreal place of unimaginable beauty. Explore the eroded pillars of sandstone rock known as “The Seven Pillars”. Lunch is included on today’s program. Drive back to Amman and overnight.  (B.L)

Day 5:  Amman / En Route

After breakfast, depart to Allenby/ King Hussein Bridge* to enter Israel; or to Amman Airport for your departure flight. (Optional: Ask about VIP Services at Allenby/King Hussein Bridge, highly recommended.) (B)
